Overview

Overview

For those who love motorcycle travel and are seeking a true adventure, Nepal is the ultimate destination. On a unique 15-day journey aboard a Himalayan Royal Enfield motorcycle, we will explore the distinct landscapes of Nepal, passing through traditional rural villages, lush forests, and the majestic Himalayan mountain range. Starting from Kathmandu, we will travel to various cities in Nepal, including Sauraha, Lumbini, Tansen, Pokhara, Muktinath, Bandipur, and Nuwakot.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu. Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel.

As soon as the plane lands in Kathmandu, our partner in Nepal will pick us up from the arrivals gate of Tribhuwan International Airport and transfer us to the hotel. After checking in at the hotel, our Nepali guide will brief us about the trip and we will receive the keys to our motorcycles. You can also take a test ride around the hotel.

Meals: Dinner

Day 2: Motorcycle ride from Kathmandu to Chitwan

The second day of our journey begins in the city of Kathmandu. Early in the morning, we will have breakfast and then ride to Chitwan via the Mahendra Highway, covering 158 kilometers from Kathmandu along the banks of the Trishuli River. Along the way, we will stop for lunch at a spot where you can enjoy views of the jungle and lush hills. During the day, we will arrive in Chitwan, Sauraha. In the remaining time, we can visit the Tharu village, where we will have the opportunity to observe and learn about the culture and traditions of its inhabitants. On this day, we will ride exclusively on paved roads.

Distance: 158 km
Riding time: 5-6 hours
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 3: Visit to Chitwan National Park & full-day jungle safari activities

On this day, we will stay in Chitwan and explore Chitwan National Park. We can make the most of our day with a series of jungle safari activities, spending time with Nepal’s majestic elephants in the dense jungle in search of wildlife, or taking a river safari in traditional carved wooden canoes to observe wildlife and birds along the river. One-horned rhinoceroses, spotted deer, antelopes, and sambar deer are among the wild animals found in Chitwan. There is also a great variety of birds. If we are lucky, we may spot a leopard, a sloth bear, or a Bengal royal tiger (although spotting tigers is becoming increasingly difficult these days!).

Afterward, we will go on a canoe ride on the Rapti River, where we will see large Gharial crocodiles and enjoy the birdsong. In the evening, we will enjoy a cultural show featuring Tharu dancing.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 4: Ride from Sauraha (Chitwan) to Lumbini

The fourth day begins with breakfast in Sauraha (Chitwan) and a ride to our next destination, Lumbini, covering a total distance of 160 km. We will need approximately 5 hours riding our motorcycles from Sauraha. Along the way, we will have the opportunity to enjoy the lush forests of the region. Midway through the route, we will stop for lunch and refuel.

Lumbini is known as one of the most spiritual places for all Buddhist followers worldwide and is also included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Lumbini was discovered based on a pillar left behind by the Buddhist emperor Ashoka in the early 3rd century BCE. During our visit to Lumbini, we can clearly observe various inscriptions, bricks, and other related features of Lumbini, known as the birthplace of Buddha. Today’s ride will also be entirely on paved roads.

On the seventh day of the journey, we will have the opportunity to ride on an off-road route, starting from Beni Bazzar. After Beni Bazzar, the route becomes more challenging. However, this will not be the only challenge for the riders, as at certain points we will also experience the thrilling crossing of rivers. Upon arrival in Tatopani, where we will spend the night, we can relax in the natural hot spring pools by the river, surrounded by lush mountain scenery.

The stunning views of the rugged terrain, flowing waterfalls, orchards of oranges and apples, scattered roadside communities, and ancient Buddhist monasteries enrich the riding experience.

Our route will then move between the peaks from Jomsom to Muktinath. Along the way, there are breathtaking views of the Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Tukuche (6,920 m), and Nilgiri (7,061 m) mountains. After Kagbeni, we continue riding toward Jomsom (approximately 11 km) and then on to Kalopani via the village of Marpha. Marpha is known for its apple orchards and agricultural products.
