Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Kathmandu

We arrive in Kathmandu, the capital and largest city of Nepal. This city is rich in history and culture, having been the capital of several kingdoms in the past, and it is home to numerous UNESCO World Heritage temples and monuments. At the same time, Kathmandu buzzes with markets, bazaars, and tourism, serving as the starting point for many mountaineering expeditions to Everest. We will settle into our hotel, and in the evening, during the welcome dinner, we will enjoy traditional Nepali dishes accompanied by authentic cultural dances. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 – Kathmandu to Nuwakot (65 km) – Into the Heart of Nepal

Early in the morning, after loading our motorcycles, we embark on a scenic 65 km ride to Nuwakot. We will ride through the lush Nepali countryside, passing small villages, rice terraces, and landscapes that unfold like a painting. Nuwakot is steeped in history, famous for its impressive seven-story palace. Tonight, we will stay in a traditional farmhouse, experiencing the tranquility and authenticity of rural Nepal.

Day 3 – Nuwakot to Kerung (2,300 m | 100 km) – The Gateway to Tibet

On the third day, we begin ascending in altitude as we approach Tibet. Early in the morning, we set off through beautiful landscapes. After crossing border formalities, we continue to Kerung, known as the Gateway to Tibet, at the Nepal–Tibet border. Along the way, the scenery offers breathtaking changes. Our first night on the Tibetan side will be spent in a guest house.

Day 4 – Kerung to Tingri (4,300 m | 270 km)

Today, we delve deeper into Tibet, heading toward Tingri and crossing the impressive Lalung La pass. The grandeur of Tibet will unfold before our eyes, granting a profound sense of freedom. Overnight in a hotel in Tingri.

Day 5 – Tingri to Shigatse (3,900 m | 225 km) – Heart of Tibetan Culture

Our route today leads to Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet. We will cross the Gyanchula pass (5,200 m), one of many high passes along the journey, offering breathtaking panoramas. Shigatse holds immense cultural and spiritual significance as home to the famous Tashilunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama, one of Tibetan Buddhism’s most important figures. Overnight at a hotel in Shigatse.

Day 6 – Shigatse to Gyantse (3,950 m | 90 km)

In the morning, we explore the magnificent Tashilunpo Monastery of the Panchen Lama, one of the four major monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. Gyantse still preserves traditional Tibetan architecture and atmosphere. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 7 – Gyantse to Lhasa (3,650 m | 261 km) – The Holy City

Today is a long but extraordinary day, as we head to the legendary city of Lhasa, the “City of the Gods” and spiritual capital of Tibet. The route is mesmerizing, filled with contrasts. We will also visit Jokhang Temple, the holiest pilgrimage site for Tibetans, and Sera and Drepung Monasteries, once the largest monastic universities in the world, to witness Tibetan Buddhist education firsthand. Finally, a walk through the vibrant Barkhor Market offers insight into everyday life in the heart of Lhasa. Overnight at a hotel.
