Come and enjoy a special hiking excursion to the Penteli mountain very close from the center of Athens. Penteli mountain is particularly well known in Greece for its famous marble used in the Golden Age of Pericles to build the Parthenon (Acropolis) and the ancient city of Athens in whole.
It is located at the north-western edge of the city and is easily accessible for a day hike.
The hike at Mount Penteli is designed for beginner hikers or for a family visiting Athens.It provides the ideal solution for those who have no experience before of hiking, they love nature and want to escape from the noisy city. So, The level of the hike is very easy as it goes all the way through a dirt road.
In this tour you will see how the marbles still remain on the mountain and you will enjoy a spectacular view of Athens. We will visit a small chapel of the 13th-15th century where probably monks used to live there in the past.
Physical Condition & Experience Requirements
Penteli Mt hike is not a technical hike, and no prior hikingexperience is required.It is recommended that participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases consult their doctor before any hike.
