We start at 1110m, and after a 3-hour hike in a pleasant rich forest trail of pine and fir trees until we reach our destination for the day the Petrostrouga Hut. DAY2 Button

Hike to Muses plateau - Tumba peak - Sleep at refuge house

The day starts early as we need to depart by 09.00 towards the Muses plateau, named after the inspirational goddesses of literature, science, and the arts. During this 4-5 hour stunning hike we will see how the mountain’s ecosystem transforms, from dense forest to alpine terrain, as we head towards higher altitudes. A small but friendly refuge will accommodate us where  we will have a 2 hour break to get acquainted with the space, get a warm tea, or socialise with local climbers.

After lunch and relaxing time, we will hike the nearby peaks – named Profitis Ilias at an altitude of 2.781m and the close by peak of Tumba at 2.786m - just above our refuge to admire superb views of Mt Olympus summits. A breath taking view of the Aegean Sea while the sun is setting is the perfect closure of our hikes. Upon our return to the refuge a well deserved dinner and a drink are all we need to complete the day.

(Estimated Hiking Time: approx. 4-5 hours)

DAY3 ButtonDescent the mountain -  Transfer to Meteora.

Today after breakfast, is the summit day. In order to reach Mytikas we will have to use our hands (rock scramble). At the top of Mytikas (2918m) you will see one of the most magnificent views in Greece. On a clear day, you are able to see as far as Albania and Bulgaria in the North, and Chalkidiki penisulla. As reaching the summit is challenging and the safety of our clients always comes first, our guides retain the decision if clients are to actually climb the peak of Mytikas.

We will descent the mountain taking a different trail this time. Afterwards we drive towards Meteora for overnight there and if we are on time we will go for a perfect sunset view.
